The Top Five Best Things You Can Do For Your Body

When it comes to our body, we don't get a second chance to take care of it.

Fortunately, there are a many ways to ease into positive lifestyle changes.   Just trying a few simple changes to your daily routine can have excellent long-lasting effects on your overall health.

1.) Get enough sleep. Although it can be hard to catch a full seven to eight hours a night, you should always strive to get as much quality, uninterrupted sleep as possible.   You're body repairs itself from stress and your mind processes the information that you’ve learned while you are sleeping.  Being properly rested is a very important part of your overall health.

2.) Drink plenty of fluids. Water is vital to all life processes. By keeping your body hydrated, you can maintain healthy cell growth, organ function and proper digestive health. You can also nourish your body with juices and other nutrient-filled beverages.

3.) Eat properly. If you’re overweight, you’ve probably tried dieting with varying levels of success. Instead of focusing on counting calories, try to shift your focus toward small portions 5 times a day instead of large portions 3 times.  Also, there is a great advantage to eating better-quality foods. The more whole grains, fruits, vegetables and juices you eat, the more nutrients your body will absorb.

4.) Exercise. You don’t have to hit the gym or go on a run to enjoy the benefits of exercise. Any activity that gets your blood pumping and your muscles working will help improve your heart, lungs and muscles while burning fat. You may consider taking a dance class, taking a dip in a pool or just take a walk.  I finally found a way that I can get along with exercise.  It's called a Wii.  I've lost 30 pounds playing with my grandchildren since we got it.

5.) Give your immune system a boost. While you’re working on positive lifestyle changes, you may want to consider adding Vitamin C supplements, B-12 Vitamins and natural antioxidants like those found in acai berries and other products. This will help your body fend off diseases and help keep your energy level high.

If you treat your body well, you can reap the benefits of a long and healthy life. By starting small and enacting simple lifestyle changes, you can transition into a long-term health regimen that you can maintain for the rest of your life.
